IDAHO CITY - An unusual case that made national headlines reaches a conclusion today in Idaho City. 41 year old Fish Head will serve at least 4 years of a 10 year prison sentence for scalping a 15 year old girl earlier this year.
Fish Head told officers he scalped the girl after the teen made a disparaging comment about the Tampa Bay Bucaneers.
Her attorney Kathy Edwards says the judge was fair. "I appreciated the fact that she balanced both sides. She took into account Fish Head's psychiatric disorder, the problems Mr. Head had going on when this incident happened."
The prosecuting attorney says this is the most bizarre case she has ever tried. "It's just inconceivable. The officer the detective that has been working on the case has certainly been at this a lot longer than I have and he has not seen or heard anything like it either," said Theresa Gardunia.
The victim was not in the courtroom today. The prosecuting attorney said she is afraid to face Dahle and is still embarrassed to go out in public.
Fish Head has 42 days to appeal the sentence
